Sounds familiar?

Every morning starts with styling, a blow-dryer and a fight with your hair. On holiday, sun and salt water wreck it, and your hairstyle survives until the first gust of wind.

The solution

Braid once — and you're set for the whole summer. Box braids need zero styling: wake up and go. Sea, pool, sport — the style keeps its shape for 1.5–2 months.

Frequently asked questions

No. I braid with the right tension — your hair won't break or shed more than usual. In Angola, people wear braids from infancy, and the technique has been refined over generations. The key is a careful take-down, which I do as well.

Not with me. Pain comes from over-tightened braids — that's a braider's mistake. My braiding is firm but comfortable.

1.5–2 months with normal wear. After that, the regrowth at the roots becomes visible — you can take the braids down or get re-braided.

From 5–7 centimetres. On short hair I braid with kanekalon — you can get any length and volume you like.

Once every 7–10 days with diluted shampoo, rinsing along the partings. The full instructions are in the care guide you get after braiding.
